Travellers wonder how political developments in the Middle East might affect a visit to Oman. While there were some hostilities directed at Omani radar and Port facilities, neither public life, nor tourism and the tourist infrastructure are impacted. Visitors continue to experience Oman as one of the calmest, safest and most hospitable countries in the region. Our Course will take place in the Dhofar region in the south of Oman, far from any conflicts or potential military targets.

For decades, the Sultanate has pursued a consistent policy of neutrality and dialogue. Oman maintains good relations with its neighbouring states and is held in high international regard as a trustworthy mediator. Oman has repeatedly played an important diplomatic role, particularly in talks between the United States and Iran. Negotiations have taken place both in Muscat and, under Omani mediation, in Geneva. 
Thanks to this balanced foreign policy, Oman is regarded as a stable partner and bridge-builder in an often complex region. Although no one can predict political developments with absolute certainty, Oman continues to be regarded by international observers as one of the most reliable and safest travel destinations on the Arabian Peninsula.
