Our desert driving courses are aimed at people with a spirit of adventure, a love of driving and an interest in experiencing extraordinary landscapes in a unique way. It doesn’t matter whether you’re looking to gain your first experience of off-road or sand driving, or whether you already have off-road skills.
In principle, anyone aged 18 or over with a valid driving licence can take part. Far more important than previous driving experience are an open mind, a willingness to learn and the enthusiasm to take on new challenges.

The course is ideally designed for beginners and requires no prior experience of off-road or dune driving. Under professional guidance, participants learn, step by step, the basics of driving on sand, how to handle the vehicle safely, and the most important techniques for driving in the dunes. For advanced and experienced off-road drivers, we tailor the training programme individually to each participant’s driving level and personal goals. This creates a challenging yet instructive driving experience for every level of expertise.

Driving in the Rub’ al Khali, the legendary Empty Quarter in southern Oman, means exploring one of the world’s most spectacular yet challenging landscapes. Participants should enjoy manoeuvring their vehicle in extraordinary conditions – whether in demanding dune and desert terrain or in the climatic conditions typical of the region.

The course is conducted in English. However, we are happy to assist our guests in German, French and Spanish to ensure that all participants feel safe and well looked after throughout the course.. Regardless of age (18 and over), background or level of experience, anyone who enjoys driving, wants to develop new skills and is seeking a desert adventure is very welcome at Offroad Oman.

Offroad drive to Ramlad Jedilah (highest dune in the world, 450m) course L4, overnight stay camping on dune

Desert drive to Salalah, overnight stay at Crown Plaza
